- Math and Programming: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a flair for computational work.
- Microscopy and Image Processing: Experience or a strong interest in the acquisition, analysis and manipulation of imaging data.
- Wet Lab Techniques: Hands-on experience or a desire to learn about working with chemicals and biological samples.
